TAMAYUZ (GB) NOW JOINT TOP TURF MILER

 

Curlin (USA)(130) and Duke of Marmalade (IRE)(127) have retained their status of Top Dirt and Turf Horse in the world respectively following  their  victories in the Woodward Stakes (G1) and the Juddmonte International (G1)

  in the latest edition of the World’s Leading Horses, compiled by the panel of handicappers/racing secretaries affiliated to the IFHA (International Federation of Horseracing Authorities).

Tamayuz (GB)(124) has joined Henrythenavigator (USA)(124) at the top of the Turf Miler Rankings following his impressive success in the Prix du Haras de Fresney le Buffard Jacques Le Marois (G1) at Deauville while his compatriot Goldikova (IRE )(119) has joined versatile multiple Group 1 winning Irish filly Lush Lashes (GB)(119) as joint top Turf Miler filly following her authoritative successes in the Prix Rothschild ( ex Astarte )(G1) and the Prix Du Moulin De Longchamp(G1).

In the Dirt Division in North America , challengers have emerged to Curlin (USA)(130) and Big Brown (USA)(126) in the form of  Colonel John (USA)(122) and Mambo in Seattle (USA)(121) who fought out an exciting finish to the Travers Stakes (G1) at Saratoga while on the west coast , Go Between (USA)(120) narrowly defeated Well Armed (USA)(119) in the Pacific Classic at Del Mar. In the filly/mare division ,multiple Grade 1 winners Zenyatta (USA)(120) and Ginger Punch (USA)(119) are ranked just ahead of promising three year olds Music Note (USA)(118) and Proud Spell (USA)(118).
Kamsin (GER )(121) has joined Adlerflug (GER)(121) at the top of the German rankings following his success over the latter in the Grosser Mercedes Benz Preis von Baden (G1) in the process supplementing his earlier success in the BMW 139th Deutsches Derby (G1) while Yeats (IRE)(122) confirmed his status as best stayer in the World with an imperious performance in the Abn Amro Goodwood Cup (G2).

The World's Leading Horses are compiled by the World Rankings Supervisory Committee and published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA).  The next World's Leading Horses listing will be released on 7th October 2008.
