French betting continues to grow

According to figures released today, French betting on horseracing went up by 5,8%, or 43.5 million € in November 2008 compared to November 2007. In the same period, 72 race meeting were held, which is 3 more (or 4.3%) than November 2007.

Total betting in the first 11 months of 2008 are up by 5,4% compared to the same period in 2007. Total betting volume so far this year amounts to 8,447 million €.

Despite these good figures, the French racing body France Galop decided to increase price money for 2009 by only 1,5%.
