Olympic movement looks at betting

The head of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Jacque Rogge, has called for a system to monitor betting companies in the fight against illegal betting and match fixing. It has hired a former British police commissioner and head of the International Cricket Council's anti-corruption unit to advise the organisation.

Mr. Rogge believes that Olympic sports are not at much risk because the Olympic participants have trained hard during years to arrive at the top and would be less inclined to give up potential glory for betting wins.
