New French enforcement measures to impose online gaming restrictions

France intends to incorporate restrictions to online gaming into its new anti-delinquency law.

The first restriction is to make it illegal to invest in organisations that are involved in gambling, betting or lotteries, which are prohibited by French law. The second restriction will make it illegal for banks and financial institutions to take betting transactions from unauthorised operators.

According to the new restrictions, which still have to be adopted, any online information portal will be required to alert surfers that a hyperlink on their page will go to a site illegal in France.
