Report reveals increasing popularity of jump racing | |
Improved tracks and facilities have helped boost attendances at jump race meetings by 42% between 2001 and 2005, according to “Jump Racing Focus” a report commissioned by the Racecourse Holdings Trust, a subsidiary of the Jockey Club, with backing from the British Horseracing Board and the Horserace Betting Levy Board. From 2001 to 2005, the average attendance at jump meetings went up from 3,8 to 4,4 thousand, while the average attendance at flat meetings dropped from 5 to 4,6 thousand.
