Longines World Racing Awards Set for London

The 2023 Longines World Racing Awards will be held on 23 January 2024 in London, England. The event, which is organised by the Swiss watch brand Longines and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), will take place at the famed Savoy Hotel.

The ceremony will honour the highest-rated horse in the 2023 Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings as well as the Longines World’s Best Horse Race. In the previous edition, Flightline was named the 2022 Longines World’s Best Racehorse after receiving a historic rating of 140, while the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), which Flightline won during his undefeated career, was celebrated as the 2022 Longines World’s Best Horse Race.

The Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings are established by international handicappers according to the performance of the horses in top races. The highest rated race is determined by averaging the rankings of the first four placed horses. The full list and further information on the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings are both available on the IFHA website http://www.ifhaonline.org.

The trophy celebrating the Longines World’s Best Racehorse is a crystal vase named Equus, whereas the Longines World’s Best Horse Race trophy represents a proud horse head. Every year, the trophies are engraved with the name of the Longines World’s Best Racehorse and Horse Race respectively, and the representatives of the winners are presented with an elegant Longines timepieces.
