Also France arrests online gambling bosses

Two directors of Austrian online gambling company Bwin, who where heading to AS Monaco soccer club, were put in prison for illicitly offering gambling services in France.

The two traveled to their company’s press conference at the soccer club of the princedom to announce a shirt sponsorship agreement. They where arrested by French police when their planned landed from abroad at Nice airport and moved to detention and interrogation.

Although the French clubs that received money from the illegal gambling companies protested against the arrests, the French football association said it warned against getting money from online gaming businesses.

The arrests follow similar action by US authorities in the last couple of months.
