Computer fraud on online gaming sites

During the last couple of months, computer hackers have attempted to gain access to consumer accounts at various gambling sites, among which betting exchange Betfair.

The method of the hackers is to persuade bettors to download a virus infected program, for example a tipping service. The viruses are designed to retrieve passwords from the gambling sites users’ machines, with which the accounts are then plundered.

The matter was brought to light by various anti-virus companies, which see a new lucrative market at the horizon.
