Launch of 2005 "virtual stable" World Throroughbred Championships Notification Service

The Jockey Club's Equibase Company LLC has launched the 2005 Virtual Stable World Thoroughbred Championships notification service, the once-daily e-mail of workouts, entries and results for the top contenders in all eight Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships races. The service is available at no charge through http://www.ntra.com and http://www.equibase.com.

“Sending this information out daily to the more than 50,000 fans who have requested to be notified helps build early and sustained interest in Thoroughbred racing’s championship day,” said Rhonda Norby, marketing and communications manager for Equibase.

Each notification includes a list of upcoming televised races and links to additional information such as entries, result charts and past performance programs.

The service tracks approximately 25 horses per division, including the top 10 horses in the World Thoroughbred Championships Poll. Information on foreign horses is included when possible with the assistance of various international organizations.

The notifications will conclude following the 22nd Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships at Belmont Park on October 29.

Equibase Company LLC is a partnership between The Jockey Club and the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America and serves as the Thoroughbred industry’s official database for racing information. Through its web site, http://www.equibase.com, the company provides an ever-increasing menu of handicapping products and racing information for handicappers and fans of all skill levels.
