2007 Int'l Cataloguing Standards Book now available

The 2007 edition of International Cataloguing Standards and International Statistics is now available, both in print and on the website for the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) at http://www.ifhaonline.org/standardsBook.asp.

International Cataloguing Standards and International Statistics contains a complete list of 2007 stakes races accorded Group/Graded or Listed status in sales catalogues published by the world’s major Thoroughbred auction houses under the auspices of the Society of International Thoroughbred Auctioneers (SITA) in accordance with the rules of the International Cataloguing Standards Committee (ICSC).

Non-Listed stakes races that will receive SITA black type in the U.S. and Canada are not included in the book. However, page XV contains the requirements for U.S. and Canadian races to receive black type in SITA catalogues.

“International Cataloguing Standards and International Statistics is the definitive book on Group/Graded and Listed stakes races for SITA sales catalogues worldwide,” said Carl Hamilton, chairman and president of The Jockey Club Information Systems and secretary to the ICSC. “As such, it is an important reference guide for a wide cross-section of industry stakeholders, especially racing secretaries who can consult the black-type requirements for U.S. and Canada on page XV when writing conditions for stakes races that they anticipate will be awarded SITA black type. Races run in the U.S and Canada with conditions that do not meet these requirements will not be awarded black type in SITA catalogues.”

In addition to the 2007 International Cataloguing Standards and International Statistics, the IFHA website features an updated 2007 Race Fixtures and Results database available at http://www.ifhaonline.org/racingDisplay.asp?section=2. The database enables users to search the Group/Graded races in a particular country by a number of criteria, including track, purse, distance, age and gender. It also provides the results of these races for the past four years as furnished by the IFHA member countries.
